Mushroom Sauce

Serves: 8

Ingredients:

  • 1 tbsp. olive oil 
  • 1/2 white or yellow onion, finely diced 
  • 1lb. sliced baby bella mushrooms
  • 3 tbsp. butter 
  • 2 cloves minced garlic 
  • 1 tbsp. thyme 
  • 1 tbsp. oregano 
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 2 tbsp. corn starch (optional) 
  • salt and pepper to taste 

Instructions:

  1. Melt the butter in a large pan, add the onion and cook until brown. 
  2. Add the mushrooms and saute for 5-6 minutes or until mushrooms are browned. 
  3.  Reduce heat to medium low. Add garlic, thyme, oregano, and mix well. 
  4. Add in chicken broth and increase heat to a gentle boil. 
  5. Add the heavy cream and bring to a boil. Add in corn starch to increase thickness if desired. 
  6. Add salt and pepper to taste. 
  7. Enjoy!
