While we partner with industry leaders in this field, it’s our duty to ensure they remain accountable and progressive in carrying out best practices for animal welfare each and every day.
We do this in a number of different ways, but it starts by only partnering with local Texas suppliers who undergo an independent and certified third-party audit focused on the latest animal welfare practices. We also trust and verify that our suppliers are only procuring animals from producers who undergo routine audits geared toward humane handling and treatment of livestock.
Nolan Ryan Beef® is proud to be the first high quality beef company to invest and utilize the Temple Grandin Responsible Cattle Care Programto assess animal condition and well-being before they are harvested. This audit system is in addition to the yearly third-party animal welfare audits mentioned above.
During this audit, animals are inspected for health condition, injuries and signs of overall level of care from their previous point of ownership. If any animals show signs of improper care, those suppliers will be eliminated from the Nolan Ryan Beef® supply chain. Without well cared for healthy animals we cannot make the highest quality products available to our customers.
