Our aggressive food safety program ensures you’re getting wholesome, quality beef every time you buy Nolan Ryan’s All-Natural Beef.

Licensed Facilities

Nolan Ryan’s Beef comes only from cattle that are fed in specially selected and licensed cattle feeding facilities that have met Nolan Ryan’s high standards. These cattle are strictly grain fed and never receive antibiotics or growth hormone implants during the last 100 days prior to harvest which far exceeds FDA’s 30-day withdrawal requirement. In addition, the beef is randomly tested for antibiotic residue after harvest to monitor compliance with these restrictions. The cattle never receive meat or bone meal products.

Our beef is processed only in USDA-inspected plants where strict federal guidelines for food safety are enforced.

Food Safety Testing

In addition, an ISO-certified independent food safety laboratory monitors the processing facility and the beef for any pathogens that could compromise food safety.

Ground Beef

Our ground beef specifications allow only for the use of wholesome ground round that is made exclusively from premium round cuts including the top round, bottom round, and peeled knuckle. Our ground chuck comes from the chuck and shoulder cuts. All of these cuts come exclusively from young, grain-fed steers and heifers to maintain the high quality and safety of our ground beef. We never use bull meat, or beef from older cows or “downer cows.” We never use soy extenders or Advanced Meat Recovery systems in the production of our ground beef.

Also, our ground beef is produced in a closed-loop system. This means that we isolate our beef from other ground beef in the production process so that we can ensure our strict food safety protocols are followed.

We never use Lean Finely Textured Beef (LFTB)

Our ground beef specifications allow only for the use of wholesome ground round that is made exclusively from premium round cuts including the top round, bottom round, and peeled knuckle. Our ground chuckcomes from the chuck and shoulder cuts. All of these cuts come exclusively from young, grain-fed steers and heifers to maintain the high quality and safety of our ground beef. We never use bull meat, or beef from older cows or “downer cows.” We never use soy extenders or Advanced Meat Recovery systems in the production of our ground beef.  Our beef never contains any artificial ingredients, additives or preservatives- including those found commonly in other beef products such as Lean Finely Textured Beef (LFTB), which sometimes referred to as “Pink Slime”.
